
BREAKING: Rwanda confirms 7 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 82

Seven new patients have tested positive for COVID-19 in Rwanda, the country’s health ministry confirmed Wednesday evening. The latest cases of of the novel coronavirus bring the total number of known infections in Rwanda to 82.
Three of the new cases were detected via contact tracing of earlier infections, two were persons with frequent travel in the region, one had recently traveled to the country from the United Kingdom and one had recently traveled from Dubai, the ministry said minutes ago.

Health officials stressed that the majority of the country’s COVID-19 patients were asymptomatic and that all confirmed cases in the country remain under isolation.
“Heightened vigilance continues to be required,” the statement read. “The enhanced prevention measures announced by the Government of Rwanda must be rigorously observed.”
