Brazil’s First Lady Michelle Bolsonaro has tested positive for COVID-19 days after her husband, President Jair Bolsonaro tested positive for the disease.

Michelle said on Saturday her test results returned negative, and so did the results of her two daughters.

President Bolsonaro announced on Tuesday that he had tested positive and said he had placed himself under quarantine.

He also said he had embarked on a medication of the unproven drug hydroxychloroquine, which he said worked well.

“I trust hydroxychloroquine,” he said.

Michelle, whose grandmother was rushed to hospital and intubated last week, made the announcement on Instagram. She has two daughters, one of whom she had with the president.
