Boxing champion Floyd Mayweather to focus on new career as a promoter
Floyd Mayweather Junior has once again confirmed that he is, indeed, retired.
The 39-year-old ended his career undefeated with a 49-0 record, including 26 knockouts. Despite speculation that he may get back in the ring for a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, Pretty Boy Floyd says he’s done, and will now focus on his work as a promoter. And towards that end, the 1996 Olympic bronze medalist hyped up a super middleweight bout between his fighter, WBC World Champion, Badou Jack of Sweden, and IBF World Titleholder James DeGale of the UK. The fight on January the 14th is the biggest event for Mayweather Promotions.
Mayweather has refused to entertain a rematch with Manny Pacquiao, while also dismissing the possibility of a bout with UFC Featherweight and Lightweight champion, Connor McGregor.
