Bountiful harvest makes Zimbabwe self-sufficient

Zimbabwe’s government intervention and bountiful rains have produced a bumper harvest that’s turned the Southern African nation from import dependent to self-sufficient.

The recovery is so great – a three fold increase in all grains output – that some have gone as far as to suggest the country’s bread basket status has been restored.
