The Boko Haram group terrorizing Northeast Nigeria has killed 278 people in the region in the month of July this year, reports the Daily Post.

158 of the 278 individuals killed were in Borno State alone which is home to the Sambisa Forest that houses the terrorists.

The deaths are mostly from suicide attacks and attack on the Maiduguri the capital of the Borno State.

Nigeria’s military has reported killing Boko Haram fighter in that month but has not released a specific number.

Boko Haram problem multiplied when the group split into three factions under Shiekh Abubakar Shekau, Shiekh Mamman Nur and Khalifa Abu Musaf Albarnawi.

“With the over 600,000 IDPs already enumerated for food sharing, the over 140 international non-governmental organizations present in Maiduguri and the recent directives by the Acting President to Service Chiefs to return to Maiduguri is a pointer that claims of peace as it was being politicized is far from the reality on ground,” Mallam Abdullahi Mohammed, media analyst, told the Daily Post.
