The bodies of Mariam Kighenda, 35, and Amanda Mutheu, 4, as well as the car in which they were riding, were pulled from the Indian Ocean near Mombasa, Friday afternoon.

Their car slipped off MV Harambee and sank in the channel on September 29.

The vehicle was finally spotted on Wednesday at about 58m beneath the water surface.

According to Likoni police, Kighenda’s car was the last to board MV Harambee from the mainland ramp and reversed when the ferry was midstream, plunging into the ocean.
