As part of its ongoing expansion to increase the brand’s international presence, Bentley Motors has announced the opening of its first dealership in Kenya’s capital of Nairobi.

The British automaker of luxury cars & SUVs announced the appointment of Multiple Group as the sole authorised importer of Bentley motor cars in the country with the first  models expected to arrive in the next one month.

Multiple Group will offer a number of Bentley model range, including the stylish Continental GT, the Flying Spur luxury sedan and will at a later stage bring in Mulsanne, Bentley’s most successful flagship model.

Local customers have already paid for five Bentleys whose prices start from $270,000 (Sh27 million) and can top the $390,000 (Sh39 million) depending on the level of customisation.

“We are setting up the Bentley dealership through a company called Bentley Nairobi,” Mr Dimitris Karakoulas, an executive at Multiple’s automotive division, told the Business Daily.

“We expect to sell up to nine Bentleys by the end of the year. We already have orders for five units,” he said, adding that the dealer is targeting rich customers with finer motoring tastes.

The entry of Bentley underlines increased spending on luxury items by Kenya’s super-rich whose ranks have grown in the past decade thanks to overall economic expansion and a rally in the price of specific assets including real estate, the Business Daily reports.
