Spanish police say they have shot a suspect that was wearing an explosives belt as their hunt continues for the man suspected of driving the van used in the Barcelona attack.
Catalan police say the man was “shot down” during an operation conducted in the town of Subirats, west of Barcelona.
There has however been no confirmation yet that on whether the man was Younes Abouyaaqoub, the 22-year-old man alleged to have been the sole driver of the van that plowed into a crowd on Las Ramblas, killing 13 people and injuring over 120 others.
