Baboons being sold as Muchomo in Uganda’s Kafu – UWA has warned travellers

Uganda’s Wildlife Authority (UWA) has warned travellers who like buying roasted meat along highways to be cautious of what they eat.
While addressing the press on Tuesday, Dr. Andrew Seguya, the UWA executive director said a number of times they have arrested and prosecuted people selling Baboon meat in Uganda’s Kafu region claiming it is Antelope or other game meat to unsuspecting travellers.
Cautioning travellers, Seguya said that the sellers slaughter Baboons and calves then smear blood to make the meat appear dark like game meat.
Mr. Seguya’s utterances media reports which claimed that UWA game rangers had executed seven people in Murchison Falls conservation area on August 23rd, Daily Monitor reports
