At least five people were killed in a suicide bomb attack in the northern Cameroon town of Mora on Sunday, in what appeared to be the latest cross-border attack by Nigeria’s Boko Haram islamist militant group.

The dead include two civilians and the two suicide bombers, who detonated themselves at around 8:00am when they were stopped by a police officer near the entrance of the town.

The suicide bombers were both female and are strongly being linked with al Shabaab following the islamist group’s frequent attacks in the region in recent times.

A police officer was also killed in the attack.
