American Airlines attendant hits mum carrying young twins
In a second incident this month involving air travel, a female passenger was hit by an American Airlines flight attendant while carrying her twins before being taken off the plane.
Reports indicate that the woman had just boarded the plane on Friday afternoon from San Francisco to Dallas when the shocking incident occurred.
Passengers allege the attendant “violently” took a stroller from a lady with twins – hitting her and just missing one of the babies.
The incident comes amid the debate over airline boarding treatment after the United Airlines furor involving a man being dragged off a flight in Chicago.
The incident was filmed by another passenger who later uploaded it on Facebook where it went viral.
As the attendant was still confronting the woman, who until this point was carrying her young twins, another passenger stepped in to defend her, telling the attendant off.
The tearful woman was eventually escorted off the flight.
American Airlines acknowledged the incident and issued a statement saying it is disappointed by the actions of the attendant. It added that it had suspended him and investigations had begun.
“The actions of our team member captured here do not appear to reflect patience or empathy, two values necessary for customer care. In short, we are disappointed by these actions,” American said in a statement. “The American team member has been removed from duty while we immediately investigate this incident.”
