Aliou Cisse appointed Senegal Coach
Former Senegal international midfielder Aliou Cisse has been appointed as the new manager for the national side.
The country’s football federation made the announcement in a statement that the 38-year old Cisse has signed a four-year contract to head up the Lions of Teranga.
Cisse won 35 caps for Senegal as a player and takes over from Frenchman Alen jiresse, who left the helm of the team after this year’s Africa Nations Cup.
Cisse enjoyed spells as assistant coach of the side and also as part of the coaching team for the 2012 Olympic Games. He captained the side at the 2002 World Cup where the team reached the quarter-finals.
