Gabonese President Ali Bongo has come out blaming the opposition for fueling the latest violence.

At least three people have been killed, and businesses and shops in the capital have been looted. Authorities say they have made more than one-thousand one-hundred arrests. Elections held last Saturday saw Bongo defeat opposition leader Jean Ping by a little over five thousand votes.

Ping is demanding a recount, claiming the vote was rigged.
