Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez scores as Leicester succumb to defeat against Watford
Algeria’s football star Riyad Mahrez scored Leicester City’s only goal as they went down 2-1 at Watford, all three goals scored in the first 15 minutes.
Leicester’s continued their poor form on away duty as the Hornets got back to winning ways after their humiliating 6-1 loss to Liverpool in the last match day.
It took the home side only 30 seconds to open the scoring with Etienne Capoue putting Watford ahead against a Leicester side that looked vulnerable defensively.
Roberto Pereyra doubled the Hornet’s lead in the 12th minute, sending Danny Drinkwater the wrong way before curling a wonderful shot past the hapless Ron-Robert Zieler.
The loss leaves the Foxes at 14th, just two points above the relegation zone.
They now turn their focus on Champions League duty as they host Club Brugge on Tuesday.
