Algeria’s football star Mahrez wants Lione Messi at Leicester
Algerian midfield superstar Riyad Mahrez has expressed his high admiration for Argentina’s Lionel Messi, saying he would love his club Leicester City to sign him up even though that would cost him his place in the starting 11.
Mahrez was part of the history-making Leicester side that defied all odds to claim the Premier League title last season.
The Algerian won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award for his feat in the foxes amazing season, and was also named in won the PFA Team of the Year.
Asked by Goal.com who he thought were the best footbalers of 2016, Mahrez picked Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Antoine Griezmann.
His best coach picks were his club-coach Claudio Ranieri and Real Madrid’s tactician Zinedine Zidane, the latter for leading the Los Blancos to an eleventh Champions League title.
Mahrez will be part of the Algerian team that faces Nigeria tomorrow in a World Cup qualifier match.
