Algeria condemns attacks on Malian troops

Algeria condemned the terrorist attack that targeted military convoys in a village in central Mali claiming the lives of dozen of soldiers.

“Algeria strongly condemns the bloody terrorist attacks that targeted on Sunday a military convoy in the locality of Buka Were in central Mali killing and injuring many troops,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Abdelaziz Benali Cherif was quoted as saying by APS news agency.

“We bow to the sacrifices of the Malian army and security forces who laid their lives in defense of their people and country, as we extend our condolences to the families of the victims and we renew our solidarity with the brotherly government and people of Mali,” he added.

On Monday, the Malian army said in a statement that 24 soldiers were killed in an ambush on a military convoy in Buka Were.
