Airlines suspend flights to Abuja on shrinking passenger numbers

Nigeria has appealed to Emirates and other airlines not to scale down operations in the country.

Minister of State for Aviation, Hadi Sirika says the government is aware of the challenges affecting airlines, including fuel shortages, and is working hard to resolve them. Emirates joins a growing number of foreign airlines suspending flights to the capital, Abuja, following a drop in demand on the route and a currency crisis in the country.
