19 year old Siyanda, a writer and student at the Univeristy of Botswana, asked her Twitter followers one question:

This started the hashtag #AfricanNationsInHighSchool which saw a satirical portrayal of African countries as students in secondary school.

It created a buzz on the Africa’s online community as it trended in many countries from January 12th.

Siyanda talked to us on why she  started the hashtag

Africans had a ball with these comical tweets

Comparisons were made to a country’s political situation

Countries rarely heard of also got their share of airplay

Organisations and countries outside Africa were not also left behind
