African leaders wish UK PM Boris Johnson a quick recovery
African leaders have sent wishes of a quick recovery to UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson as he battles COVID-19.
The 55-year-old was moved to intensive care on Monday after his COVID-19 symptoms worsened.
In its latest update on Tuesday, 10 Downing Street said Johnson was “stable” and remains “in good spirits.” He is still in intensive care and receiving “standard oxygen treatment” but is not on a ventilator and does not have pneumonia.
In the interim, Johnson has asked Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab to deputize, Downing Street said.
Various leaders across Africa have stood by the UK, hoping the Prime Minister will recover from COVID-19 soon.
Here are some messages from various African leaders;
Wishing Prime Minister @BorisJohnson a full and speedy recovery, and sending our support to him and to the people of the United Kingdom. We are going through a most challenging period but we shall overcome. Our thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time.
