Africa Day is observed annually on the continent, to mark the formation of the Organisation of African Unity on 25 May 1963, and the African Union in 2002. Attention is focused on the progress made by the continent since then, to advance democracy, peace, stability and socio-economic development. We sought some views from across the continent.

AFRICA
Camara- Sierra Leone journalist

“I feel good to be an African. I’m free to live here and for the natural resources available, But turning around , looking at what politicians do..there is corruption . All my life what I have realized is we have suffered for everything , power, electricity , water and education. this things should be available. One way to get us out of poverty …give free education to all those who cannot afford to pay.”- camara ( Sierra Leone journalist)

“Being African means that the continent is my root and am the tree that will benefit from its diversity and richness. My future plans, I have set out to live life day by day , but hope to see a peaceful nation. I believe education and openness can open any community, and our community especially.    we should all try at giving back more, that  will create harmony and a positive improvement for our community.”- Sofia Abdi Abdulahi (Mogadishu resident)

“For me Africa is developing quickly and will have a leading role in the world in the near future. It is our continent and i believe we should work on uniting the african peoples.
