AfDB’s new energy deal potentially environmentally unfriendly

Africa requires at least 40 billion dollars over the next 10 years for its energy needs.

But there is hope.

A new deal unveiled at the Africa Development Bank summit in Lusaka, Zambia promises to connect at least 640 million more people to the power grid over the period.

The challenge is the environmental cost that will come with.
