South Sudan has condemned the World Bank and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) for consistently failing to include it in the annual Global Human Development Report, even after attaining independence in 2011.
The report reviews countries’ performances to help in promoting sustainable human development in nations across the world.
Speaking at the launch of the country’s first National Human Development Report, South Sudanese leaders expressed their disapproval on the matter claiming that it was a show of global isolation.
They said the move made it hard for the young country to gauge its performance in comparison to other nations.
South Sudan has been rocked by violent conflict for almost three years and has a crippled system of administration that has affected various sectors of the economy.
