Abuja, Lagos airports to reopen to international flights on Saturday
Nigeria Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) has issued the notification to airlines operating into the country ahead of the planned resumption of international flights on Saturday.
In a letter, signed by NCAA director-general Musa Nuhu, it said only the international airports in Lagos and Abuja would handle international flights, this is according to a report by local media Daily Trust
All others remain closed to international flights “until a new date is determined and announced,” Nuhu said.
Managing Director of NAMA, Capt. Fola Akinkuotu also confirmed the notice saying, “The NOTAM was issued immediately we received the circular from the NCAA on Wednesday. The NOTAM takes effect from the hour 0001 UTC on the 5th September.”
Meanwhile, the Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has issued a notice to airmen (NOTAM) informing the operators of the restart of international operations.
The Nigerian government after easing the national lockdown reopened the airport for domestic flights on July 8 while pressure mounted for the reopening of the airports for international flights.
