Kenya records 246 new cases of COVID-19

246 people test positive for COVID-19 in Kenya, raising the number of cases in the country to 32,803, the ministry of health announced on Tuesday.

According to Health Chief Administrative Secretary (CAS) Rashid Aman, 4,149 samples were tested in the last 24 hours bringing the total number of tests done to 429,513.

Of the 246 new cases, five are foreigners while the rest are Kenyans. 170 are males while 76 are females, while the youngest is a two-year-old while the oldest is 77 years old.

Another 160 patients have recovered from the virus while 120 were on home-based care and 34 were in various hospitals across the county. This raises the total number of recoveries in the country to 19,055.

The death toll rises to 559 after five more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours.
