Kenya releases an updated list of travelers from countries exempted from quarantine
The Kenyan government on Wednesday released an updated list of nations and territories whose citizens/travelers will not be subjected to the mandatory 14-day quarantine period after arriving in the country on international flights.
The list shared by Kenya Civil Aviation Authority includes 130 countries including all East African countries with the exception of Tanzania.
Other African countries in the list include Namibia Morocco, Ethiopia, Seychelles, Eritrea, Gambia, Mauritius, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Djibouti, Lesotho and Angola.
Other countries included on the list are Italy, Egypt, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, United States (except California, Florida and Texas) and Thailand among others.
All passengers will be required to produce a PCR based COVID-19 certificate showing proof of having done a test within 96 hours before travel.
The passengers will also be required not to show a body temperature above 37.5°C (99.5°F) or have a persistent cough, difficulty breathing or other flu-like symptoms.
Kenya opened its skies to international flights on August 1 after suspending flights in March with only emergency and cargo being allowed to operate.
