Egypt sent on Saturday another batch of aid to Lebanon to help the country with facing the aftermath of the recent massive explosion that rocked the capital Beirut, Egypt’s official MENA news agency reported.
Loaded with 14 tons of aid, including foodstuff and flour, the Egyptian plane arrived at Rafic Hariri airport in Beirut earlier on Saturday.
The first batch of Egyptian aid to Beirut was delivered on Thursday containing similar tons of medical supplies.
The batches are part of an emergency air bridge through which Egypt vows to send planes loaded with necessary aid material to the disaster-stricken city.
Also on Saturday, Egypt repatriated the bodies of the three Egyptians killed in the massive Beirut blast and sent them back to their hometown for burial.
The explosions that took place in Beirut’s port area on Tuesday left at least 154 people dead and more than 5,000 injured.
