South Africa’s employment and labour minister admitted to hospital with coronavirus
South Africa’s employment and labour minister, Thembelani ‘Thulas’ Nxesi, was admitted to hospital last night after contracting COVID-19 about a week ago, the presidency said in a statement.
“He had been in been in self-quarantine at home. His admission to the hospital comes on the advice of his medical doctors, in order for him to have access to better medical attention and proper monitoring,” the Presidency said.
Minister Nxesi is the second member of Cabinet to be admitted to hospital after South Africa’s mineral resources minister, Minister Gwede who was admitted on Monday.
