Norwich City has become the first team to get relegated from the English Premier League, having just been promoted to the top flight this season.

The Canaries’ final nail was a 4-0 loss to West Ham on Saturday, which meant they are mathematically out of the race to stay up.

All goals were scored by Michail Antonio.

With three games to the end of the season, Norwich City have managed just 21 points and 26 goals.

In the 35 games they have played so far, they won only five games, lost 24 and drew six times.

The Canaries began the season with a bright show of attacking football that got many pundits projecting a longer stay for them in the top flight.

As the season progressed however, they struggled to seal points despite their attractive style of play.

Saturday’s game saw Norwich City concede as many goals as they did in their first game in the 2019/20 Premier League season when they went down 4-1 to eventual champions Liverpool.

The latest loss was a seventh consecutive defeat, and it came after an abject performance which saw the Canaries fail to score for a league-high 17th game this season.

With Liverpool already declared Champions, the remaining bit of the season will focus much on the lower end of the table, where five teams are entangled in the fight for survival.

The teams include Aston Villa, AFC Bournemouth, Watford, West Ham United and Brighton & Hove Albion.
