Ghana’s Chief Justice Kwasi Anin Yeboah has gone into self-isolation following reports that some judges in the West African country had tested positive for COVID-19.

The country’s judicial secretary said top judge began the recommended 14-day self-quarantine period on Wednesday.

Yeboah will work from home for the two-week period.

The Chief Justice is the second top official to go into self-isolation after President Nana Akufo-Addo also began working from home over the weekend after coming into contact with someone who later tested positive for COVID-19.

Local media report that several other judges have also gone into isolation.

Ghana is one of the worst affected countries by COVID-19 in Africa, having reported 22,822 infections and 129 deaths, according to data from the U.S.-based Johns Hopkins University.

The country is scheduled to hold its general elections in December, and President Akufo-Addo has expressed confidence that the polls will go on smoothly despite the pandemic.
