Rwanda launches digital application for Liberation History
Rwanda Development Board (RDB) launched a digital application, over the weekend, that will enable end users to view the course of the liberation struggle and therefore boost both domestic and international tourism, local publication The New Times reported.
The application dubbed ‘Liberation History Tourism Trail’, contains information of the history and significance of all 44 liberation sites located in six districts across Rwanda and comes at a time when the country is celebrating its national liberation for the 26th time.
The app will also have additional features such as accessibility, surrounding amenities and booking information.
According to RDB, the study of the app was done in collaboration with the Ministry of Defense and Rwanda Defense Force, and will boost both domestic and international tourism.
The Liberation History Tourism Trail traces the route of the Rwanda Patriotic Army’s liberation struggle from October 1990 to July 4th 1994.
The app can be downloaded on Google Play Store and Apple’s App Store.
