Oumar Niasse to leave Everton, Hakimi, Tau futures to be decided
Everton confirmed that Senegalese forward Oumar Niasse will leave the club when his current contract expires at the end of the month.
Niasse has struggled to impress at Everton scoring 12 goals in 65 games having joined from Russian side Lokomotiv Moscow in 2016.
Since his £13.5 million move to Goodison Park, he has also had loan spells at Hull City and Cardiff City in 2017 and 2019.
Moroccan defender Achraf Hakimi looks to be on his way out of Germany after Borussia Dortmund announced the signing of Belgian right back Thomas Meunier from Paris Saint-Germain on a four-year contract.
Several media reports have stated that Inter Milan is the likeliest destination for Hakimi, who has spent the last two seasons on loan at Dortmund where he has impressed.
The 21-year-old has scored nine goals and registered 10 assists in 45 games this season.
However, Hakimi will still be second-choice to Spaniard Dani Carvajal at his parent Real Madrid and it is believed that he does not want to return and be a back-up in light of his progress.
ESPN reports that Hakimi has been promised a starting position at Inter where he would be in competition with Nigeria’s Victor Moses and Italian Antonio Candreva in the right wingback role.
Hakimi still has two years left on his deal with the 13-time European champions.
Meanwhile, reports in Belgium suggest that South African striker Percy Tau will return to his parent club Brighton & Hove Albion after Pro League side Club Brugge decided not to retain his services.
Tau has been in Belgium for the last two seasons in Belgium after failing to meet the requirements for a UK work permit.
These requirements include playing 75 percent of international matches over two years, the player’s experience and value, and the player’s club featuring in the group stages of the Champions League and Europa League in the last one year. The third requirement also states that the player must have featured in 30 percent of the available minutes in his team’s matches in European competitions.
Tau scored four times and provided eight assists in 30 appearances in all competitions for Brugge this season which was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Speculation is that the 26-year-old may join Brugge’s league rivals Royal Antwerp instead.
