South Sudan confirms 72 more COVID-19 cases

72 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in South Sudan, bringing the total confirmed tally to 1,670, the Ministry of Health announced.

The Ministry also announced that two more patients had succumbed to the disease, bringing the death toll to 24.

Richard Lako, director-general for planning, budget and research in the ministry of health, also said that so far 48 patients have recovered from the virus.

Lako urged the public to follow government guidelines to curb the spread of the disease, especially to cooperate with teams doing contact tracing.
