Rwanda’s health ministry says two new patients have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of known infections in the country to 104.
The news was revealed late Sunday evening. Officials say the two new cases were identified through tracing the contacts of previously known cases.

The novel coronavirus, which causes the disease, was first detected in Rwanda in mid-March, when an Indian citizen who had traveled to the country from Mumbai was revealed to have tested positive.
The country’s caseload has risen steadily since, prompting the government to enact strict controls on movement and commerce in a bid to curb the virus’ spread.
Four of the country’s COVID-19 patients have recovered and been discharged after contracting the disease, the ministry said.
