Chinese community in Madagascar mobilizes food, cash to assist the vulnerable

The Chinese community in Madagascar has come out to support the local community during the trying times occasioned by the coronavirus.

Madagascar has so far reported 59 cases of Covid-19.

With the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic around the world, the overseas Chinese community in Madagascar mobilized extensively, donated money and materials to support efforts to deal with the disease.

Cai Zhenxian, Li Danping, Lu Jiawen, Li Xiaodong led the donation drive, pooling together donated 20 bags of rice, 40 boxes of flour and cash to Antananarivo city government.

“As Chinese community living in Madagascar, we are very concerned about the development trend of the pandemic, the health and safety of the people. We are here to join hands with the people of Madagascar to fight the pandemic and overcome difficulties,” they said while handing over the donation.

The donation will be disturbed to the vulnerable groups in the capital.
