Nigerian striker Odion Ighalo has been offered a contract extension of two years worth an estimated £400,000 per week (approximately $482,000) by Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

Ighalo’s current deal with the 2019 Chinese FA Cup winners, who are his parent club, is set to end in December 2022.

The deal is prize for the excellent form Ighalo has shown at English Premier League club Manchester United since his loan move from China.

Ighalo has scored four goals in three appearances since he joined the 20-time English champions on the last day of the January transfer window.

Ighalo’s loan agreement at Manchester United runs until May 31 but reports suggest that it could be extended for another month in light of the coronavirus pandemic.

The 30-year-old, the first Nigerian to sign for Manchester United, is a life-long fan of the club and even revealed that he supported the club during his stint at Watford.
