BREAKING: Cameroon reports first case of COVID-19

Cameroon Ministry of Public Health has confirmed on Friday the country’s first case of COVID-19.

The health ministry said the man, a French national of 58 years old, who arrived in the capital Yaounde on 24 February, has been quarantined in the city’s central hospital.

The minister of Public Health has reassured that all measures are being undertaken by the government to contain the possible risks of the spread of the virus.

Adding that, the active surveillance put in place by the country since the occurrence of COVID -19 outbreak has made it possible to detect this case.

He urged everyone to be vigilant and respect hygiene rules.
