Lantern Festival gala singing praise of virus fighters

China’s national Lantern Festival TV Gala has been broadcast-ed paying tribute to medical workers and people of various walks of life in battling the coronavirus outbreak.

The annual event was aired on China Central Television Saturday with no audience on site due to the epidemic.

The one-and-half-hour gala was made up of singing, dancing, poem recitation and call-ins and featured some medical researchers, doctors, patients, policemen and sanitation workers as representatives of all who are racing against time to save patients and develop effective ways of treatment.

The annual Lantern Festival which falls on the 15th day of the first lunar month marks the end of the Spring Festival celebration.
