Arsenal slumped to a sixth defeat in the Premier League this season after losing 2-1 to derby rivals Chelsea on Sunday.

The Gunners took the lead in the first half after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang headed past Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga.

Chelsea fought back to grab two late goals to pile more misery on Arsenal, who have now only won five of the 20 Premier League games played so far.

The Blues goals came through Jorginho and Tammy Abraham in the 83rd and 87th minute respectively.

Chelsea’s win opened a four-point gap between themselves in fourth place and Manchester United as they seek to ensure qualification for next season’s Champions League.

Arsenal on the other hand lie 12 with 24 points so far, and are 11 points behind Chelsea.

The Gunners will begin the new year by hosting Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium, looking to end their winless run which stretches five games in all competitions.
