Egyptian forward Mohamed Salah scored a goal and set up another as Premier League leaders Liverpool thrashed Bournemouth 3-0 at the Vitality Stadium in Bournemouth to extend their lead to 11 points.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp opted to rest Senegalese forward Sadio Mane after his man-of-the-match performance in the 5-2 midweek win against Merseyside rivals Everton.

England midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain opened the scoring in the 35th minute finishing well from Jordan Henderson’s excellent ball over the top.

Guinean midfielder Naby Keita doubled the Reds lead just before halftime after Salah laid on the chance with a brilliant backheel assist.

Liverpool extended its advantage nine minutes after the restart as Keita, this time, found Salah with an inch-perfect through ball and the Egyptian put the ball into the net.

Liverpool next plays away to Austria’s Red Bull Salzburg in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, a match in which they need to get a positive result to qualify for the knockout stage of the competition.
