Kids get rare chance to run with marathon great Kipchoge

Young Children and recreational runners got a rare opportunity to run alongside World Marathon Record Holder Eliud Kipchoge at the Scenic Karura Forest in Nairobi,Kenya on Saturday.

Kipchoge, who last month made history by becoming the first man to run a marathon under 2hrs is back in the country and was also presented with a gift by Japanese Car manufacturer Isuzu for his historic achievement.

Over 100 recreational runners and their families were graced with the presence of Marathon World Record Holder Eliud Kipchoge at the Karura Forest trail on Saturday.

The run was part of an event organized by Japanese Car Manufacturers Isuzu as they fulfilled their promise to reward Kipchoge for successfully beating the Ineos 1.59 Challenge that was held in Vienna, Austria in October.

Upon receiving his brand new Isuzu D-Max single cab pick-up worth Ksh million($40211) Kipchoge maintains his greatest fulfillment remains on how impactful his run in Vienna has been to humanity.

“ I’m happy because I have inspired over a billion people,” Kipchoge said.

He also hopes that the children who were present at the event and those who participated in the run could pick valuable lessons from his journey to success.

“I believe children do what they see not what you tell them. “
