The Kenyan leader is in the southeast Asian country for an official state visit in which he will attend the Singapore Summit 2019.
The two leaders agreed to boost trade between their countries and enhance bilateral cooperation.
President Kenyatta also hailed Singapore’s rapid development record which he says his country can emulate.
The Kenyan leader said the Asian country is a “role model for what can be achieved through conscientious planning, diligent execution of people-centric policies, and the unwavering commitment to eliminating graft and inefficiency.”
“Taking heed of the examples set by Singapore and other nations that have emerged from low-income nation status, Kenya has embarked on a transformative agenda to turn our country into a newly industrializing middle-income country by the year 2030, through implementation of the Kenya Vision 2030,” he added.
On his part, Prime Minister Lee said his country was keen on strengthening cooperation with Kenya and was interested in learning from the East African country’s experience in harnessing mobile money technology to enhance economic inclusion.
He said Singapore will support Kenya in improving the efficiency of its ports as the East African nation positions itself to serve the eastern and central African region effectively.
The Singapore Summit was launched in 2012, and has grown to become one of the biggest congregations of world business and thought leaders rom Asia and around the world.
President Kenyatta is a keynote speaker at the event.
