
653 killed, 3,547 injured in Libya’s Tripoli clashes: WHO
653 people have been killed and 3,547 others injured in the fighting in and around Libya’s capital Tripoli, the World Health Organization confirmed on Sunday.
W.H.O also said that in the past week, 3 health workers had also been injured. This came barely a week after the organization condemned attacks on two field hospitals in Tripoli, as the fighting between the east-based army and the UN-backed government continues.

Libya has been at war for nearly a decade, heightened by the killing of former leader Muammar Gaddafi.
Gaddafi’s death created a void that various armed groups sought to take advantage of.
The east-based army, led by Khalifa Haftar, has been leading a military campaign since early April to take over Tripoli, where the UN-backed government is based.
