Speaking following his side’s victory against Tottenham on Saturday, Mane said the Merseyside club would seek more trophies next season.

“Last year we were so close, and this season we won it. So, next year we go for the league and Champions League. We know it will not be easy but we are Liverpool, we are strong, we will do everything and we still have a young team. We will keep learning and working hard to get more trophies,” he said.

The Senegalese star attributed Liverpool’s success in the Champions League to team work.

“It was not easy, it was a long way, but at the end of the day we did it together so really happy and really proud.”

With the club football season now behind him, Mane will now shift focus to the Africa Cup of Nations, where his side will be hoping to emerge victorius.

Senegal is polled in Group C alongside Kenya, Tanzania and Algeria.

Coach Aliou Cissé announced his 23-man squad for the tournament ton Sunday, with Mane included alongside a host of other players that are contracted to various European clubs.

AFCON 2019 will be played in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
