An explosion hit a bus said to be carrying South African tourists while it was on the move near the Pyramids, injuring at least 14 people.

According to a security source, a device exploded near the bus – which was carrying 25 tourists from South Africa – shattering the bus windows and injuring many of those on board.

The blast also hit a nearby car, injuring four Egyptians.

The attack comes nearly five months after three Vietnamese tourists and their Egyptian tour guide were killed when a bomb hit their tourist bus as it was traveling on El-Maryoutiya Street in Giza’s Haram district.

No group has claimed responsibility for the December attack.

Egypt has responded to terrorist attacks over the past few years with raids on terrorist hideouts nationwide, including a concentrated offensive in North Sinai to combat terrorism.
