
Kenya wins bronze in mixed 4x400m relay at IAAF World Relays

Kenya claimed a bronze medal on Sunday at the ongoing International Association of Athletics Federations World Relays Championships in Yokohama, Japan, after finishing third in the mixed 4x400m relays.
The team of Jared Momanyi, Maureen Nyatichi, Hellen Syombua and Aron Koech finished behind the United States and Canada in a time of 3:19.43.
The United States won the race in a time of 3:16.43 while Canada finished in 3:18.15.
The bronze represents Kenya’s best result at the championships so far following a fourth-place finish in the men’s 4x200m race in a season’s best 1:22.55.
Kenya was disqualified in the mixed 2x2x400 metres relay and got a DNF (Did Not Finish) in the women’s 4×200 metres relay.
Kenya is currently in position 13 in the championships overall standings on 11 points. The United States leads the standings with 54 points.
