Mohamed Salah expected to be fit for Sunday’s Premier League finale
Manager Jürgen Klopp said the 26-year-old was in line for the final training sessions before the game, in which Liverpool may win their first Premier League Trophy in 29 years. That is however dependent on the Reds winning their game and Manchester City falling to Brighton & Hove Albion.
“Mo looked good around the celebrations after the game [against Barcelona], to be honest! The day before yesterday and yesterday he was running outside and will be part of training today,” Klopp said.
While Salah may be declared fit to feature on Sunday, Klopp does not expect Roberto Firmino to recover in time from a muscle strain.
“Bobby not [available] for the weekend, but we have time [before the Champions League final] and that should be enough,” the tactician said.
Salah has been pivotal for Liverpool in their quest to lift a trophy this season, scoring 26 goals and assisting 10 in all competitions.
Manchester City currently lead the Premier League standings with 94 points, one more than Liverpool.
Liverpool has also qualified for the Champions League final that will be staged on 1 June in Madrid. The Reds will face off against fellow English side Tottenham Hotspurs.
