Consul General of PRC delivers keynote lecture on China-Africa relations in Cape Town
The Consul General of People’s Republic of China in Cape Town gave a keynote lecture to University of Western Cape (UWC) students on the importance of China-Africa relations and how these have evolved over time.

The lecture titled ‘China- Africa relationships: Moving with mutual solidarity to the future’ gave students insights on the positive outcomes of the China-Africa Relations and co-operation in various fields such as politics, economy and trade.
“It is very important to hold this lecture to help the young students understand what progress the China-African relations have made,” Lin Jing, Consul General of PRC in Cape Town said.
The Consul General added that there was need to carry out more lectures in higher education institutions across South Africa.
“When we carry out these lectures, students will be more motivated to participate in co-operation exchanges between the two countries.”
One student who attended the lecture, Melanie Van Niekerk, expressed her gratitude on the lecture.
“I found the lecture really informative and it was nice to help me bridge the gap between the things I am interested in, such as the relations between China and South Africa.”
She added that the lecture helped her learn a lot more about China and Chinese history.
