Manchester United leapfrogs Arsenal with win over Leicester

Read < 1 minute

Manchester United continued their rejuvenation under caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a narrow win against Leicester City to dislodge Arsenal from fifth place before the Londoners play against Manchester City later today.

The Red Devils are experiencing a rich vein of form since the arrival of Solskjaer, having now won nine games of the 10 he has taken charge of.

The lone goal was scored by Marcus Rashford in ninth minute, with rejuvenated goalkeeper David de Gea making crucial saves to ensure his side took maximum points.

Sunday’s win came following revelation by Solskjaer that he was told by Molde’s owners to enjoy his loan to Old Trafford as caretaker manager and succeed in the role, meaning the Norwegian would not need to return.

There has been talk that the Manchester United hierarchy is considering offering the 45-year-old the manager role on a permanent basis.

Manchester United will next travel to Fulham for their next Premier League game, seeking to continue the charge into top four.
