
Kenyan President heads to China for FOCAC

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta left for Beijing for the Heads of State Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) on Friday evening.
Besides the FOCAC Summit, President Kenyatta is expected to hold bilateral talks with his host, President Xi Jinping, to focus on trade, infrastructure, investments, education and technology which are common areas of interest for both Kenya and China.
The 2018 FOCAC Summit in Beijing is to promote the economic and trade cooperation between China and African economies, it is also a platform for new relationships to be formed.
The Summit is also looking to synergise China’s Belt and Road Initiative, the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, the African Union’s Agenda 2063, and the development strategies of individual African countries.
