Rwanda’s President Paul Kagame has expressed disappointment at English football club Arsenal for being knocked out of the UEFA Europa League.
The Gunners lost 1-0 at Atletico Madrid, bowing out by a 2-1 aggregate score after recording a draw in the first leg of the clash.
Former Chelsea striker Diego Costa scored the lone goal of the Thursday night game right on the stroke of half time before Atletico Madrid clung on to see the win stay.
Following that result, President Kagame took to Twitter to express his disappointment, saying Arsenal long needed to ring changes in order to realize improved results.
The leader of the small East African country seemed to call on the club to make appropriate changed to ensure the club got back to the trophy-winning days of old.
He went on to lament the fact that Arsenal’s loss meant Wenger was leaving the club without a trophy.
My take on my beloved Club Arsenal- a very good one at the game and a very good coach like a.Wenger ,this should not have been the kind of ending of an era. The coach is leaving and club trophy-less it was long coming! I am still a committed fan going forward :). Blame the owners

As I had said way back and just as a good observer…something fundamental needed to change at/about the club. But if anything changed it was not the right one. All the best to all involved! We still need Arsenal to go back where it belongs- up there among the best in the game!

Arsenal coach Arsene Wenger last month announced that he would leave the North London outfit at the end of the club after 22 years in charge. The French manager’s hopes of winning a European trophy with Arsenal were pegged on reaching the Europa League final, but which went up in flames courtesy of Diego Costa.
The loss also meant Arsenal will be out of Champions League contention for a second season in a row, having missed out on the 2017/18 season of the European elite competition.
